Seeding Rock Wool Cubes Our rock wool substrate is ideal for greenhouse farming,
floriculture, herbal medicine cultivation, vertical greening,
planting walls, and home gardening, among other applications.
Rock wool Cubes are perfect for initiating seeds and cuttings, ensuring uniform root development throughout the cube. They fit seamlessly into the holes of standard rock wool blocks and can also be used with Aqua Clay, Perlite, Coco fiber mixes, and various other growing media.
Rock wool is a type of mineral wool, crafted from molten basalt and limestone rock. These materials are spun into fibers and then compressed into cubes, blocks, or slabs.
Handle rock wool with care by wearing gloves and a mask. The fibers can irritate the skin, and if inhaled, they can also irritate the lungs.
1. Avoid squeezing Rock wool, especially when it's wet.
2. Always pre-condition Rock wool in pH 5.5 water before use to dissolve lime.
3. Pre-soak Rock wool for 30 seconds to 30 minutes, depending on its size.
4. Water only when there's light - never water in the dark.
5. For optimal growth, maintain a room temperature of 18.5°C to 28°C. Temperatures above 26.7°C within the growing media can deplete oxygen levels and encourage root disease.
6. With low light, water more heavily but less frequently - and vice versa.
7. Do NOT keep Rock wool excessively wet. Excess algae indicates overwatering. Reduce watering when plants are young to ensure proper root establishment.
Features: 1. Large water retention capacity while also holding sufficient air. This is advantageous during power or equipment failures. 2. Available in multiple sizes and shapes for diverse hydroponic applications. 3. Highly durable and resistant to breaking down. 4. Insect-free. 5. Its physical structure protects root inspection.
